The women's and men's teams of 't Sybrook once again claimed the title of best golf club in Overijssel. Thanks to an outstanding team performance, we finished an impressive 36 strokes ahead of the competition. A particular highlight was Jade Kampstra's course record, as she completed the East–North course in just 70strokes.
Individually,things went wrong on the fifteenth hole. Until then, I had played a flawlessround, but after a mishit from the tee and a few unfortunate shots among the trees, I had to record a 10 on my scorecard. It was a major disappointment, especially as I had hoped to complete a hat-trick after my individual victories in the previous two years.
Nevertheless, in a team competition the collective result comes first. The pride we feel in our convincing victory and in every player’s contribution ultimately outweighs my personal disappointment. The way we achieved this together makes retaining the title all the more special.
